Gida Project Efforts 2025-2026
Chess Tournament Sponsorship
Overview: The Gida Project has engaged a chess commission in Africa to sponsor a tournament on the continent in 2026, and hopefully on an annual basis.
Status: Approved and budgeted.
Updates: We reached out in late-August to the President of a national Chess Association. Details will be shared as appropriate.
Student-Read Audiobook Project
Overview: Audiobook Project.
Status: Approved and budgeted through initial PoC.
Updates: Accepting submissions.
Video Project
Overview: Video produced at Ouidah, Benin.
Status: Exploratory. We have not yet budgeted for or secured funding for this effort.
Updates: It is unlikely that this will be realized in 2026 however a exploratory effort is underway.
Website Development
Overview: Development of The Gida Project website.
Status: Currently under development. Budgeted.
Updates: Tenative launch is the end of September. Soft launch to begin in late August.
